How?

Did you know that banana fruit only appears once in the same tree? When harvesting bananas, the old stems must be cut so that the next new fruit can grow. The cut stems will regenerate within a year and new bananas will grow.

Bananas are grown in about 125 countries around the world. One Planet Paper ® is made by adding waste paper and FSC ® Forest Certified Pulp at Japanese Washi Mill to the stalk fiber that is normally thrown away in the organic banana field in Zambia to produce high quality paper. Since banana farmers are the poorest people, selling both fruits and “waste” up to now will increase their income and support their lives.

Banana Paper – step-by-step
