Solar & Wind

Offices and factory run on solar, wind and hydro power. Both our Japan office, Zambia office and Sweden office have renewable electricity. Zambia’s factory use solar and hydro power.

Setting up our Solar-Tree

Solar

In Japan we purchase solar and wind power. The Swedish office also includes geothermal energy. In Zambia, we use 100% SOLAR power from a solar-tree (photo) to power two buildings including refrigerator and computers. Itbis also great for our Team Members charge their mobile phones, helping them saving money (a fee is usually charged when charging phones in the village). All the machines and equipment used in the factory use the energy of mainly hydroelectric power generation.

In an area where temperatures reach 40 C+, a solar fridge is perfect.

Biogas

In 2019 we started to build our first BIOGAS facility, with the help of a project via – among others – Sweden (SIDA). The gas will be lead from a digester to our kitchen. This will change our cooking fuel from the current non-sustainable wood fuel, to a more circular and renewable gas made from leftover banana stems, food waste and leaves.
