EDUCATION 学ぶということ
In Zambia, especially in rural areas, many adults have become underdeveloped in primary education. Only about 1/3 of our banana team members have completed compulsory education.
Banana Paper…
…has enabled Team Members’ children to attend school. So far over 150 children. Pre-school, elementary school and high school.
…4 children have been able to attend College/University.
Thanks to national efforts and international support, the environment in which children in the village receive education is gradually improving, but there are few measures for adults who have not been properly educated. However, in promoting children’s education, it is important for adults to enjoy the education and realize its importance.
One thing to watch out for in adult education is not to use the same contents as in child education. Simple reading, writing, and math often use childish questions for children, but they often hurt an adult’s pride. In education for adults, it is necessary to consider issues such as situations that are necessary for daily life and work.
At the Banana Paper Factory, we promote education for adults such as calculations such as additions at work, simple reading and writing exercises in business reports, learning about household finances. We are also promoting English education at the request of team members.
The expressions of the members who speak English with a little embarrassment and send their children to school are full of unprecedented confidence.
